We are looking for an experienced European Union Project Manager

The Opportunity:

We seek a highly organised individual to join the EU’s Horizon 2020-funded iAtlantic Project Office in the School of GeoSciences at the University of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will become Project Manager supporting the Principal Investigator and iAtlantic Coordinator (Prof Murray Roberts) in all aspects of grant and project management including monitoring of project delivery and budget, meeting EC reporting requirements, and fulfilling the project’s objectives. The successful candidate will lead financial and contractual management, liaise with the 35 iAtlantic partners to ensure project timelines are maintained and take an active role in project reporting, outreach and dissemination via the project’s website, social media and other channels.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Project and grant management experience is required with proven ability to effectively interact with multiple stakeholders to effectively deliver results.
  • Interest and proven understanding of European research programmes and projects from the development of projects plans through implementation and final reporting
  • Demonstrated experience of managing EU-funded contracts and grants is required.
  • A PhD is desirable, as well as research experience in relevant fields as the role requires scientific editing and reporting alongside credibility within the iAtlantic consortium.
  • Motivated self-starter with proven ability to work independently and manage project implementation and delivery within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • European language skills, notably Portuguese, Spanish and/or French, would be useful
