Job Summary
The ADVANCE (ArmeD SerVices TrAuma RehabilitatioN OutComE) Study is a large, complex prospective cohort study of the long-term medical and psychosocial outcomes of UK Servicemen who were seriously injured in the conflict in Afghanistan. Approximately 600 seriously injured men and an equal number of reference personnel have been recruited and will be followed for at least 20 years. ADVANCE is run jointly by Imperial College, London, Kings College London and the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) at Stanford Hall, Nottinghamshire.
We have recently been awarded a grant to explore Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in the ADVANCE cohort. Using advanced brain MR imaging, fluid biomarker assessments and neuropsychological assessments we will explore the prevalence of TBI in the ADVANCE cohort and any longer-term effects of TBI on neurodegenerative processes.
We are looking for a research technician to join a team of clinical researchers managing clinical investigations and preparing data for manuscripts for the TBI study. You will become part of the ADVANCE clinical team and along with the ADVANCE TBI Research Assistant will be responsible for the planning, organising, and administering of neuropsychological tests to research participants.
More information on ADVANCE can be found on our website.
We value diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from everyone but, as staff from ethnically diverse backgrounds are underrepresented within this field, we would encourage applications from individuals who are Black or from minority ethnic groups.
