About the Role
Applicants are sought for the role of Electron Microscopy Technician, a member of the SEMS Technical Team based in the NanoVision Centre who is responsible for technical support in electron microscopy, with a focus on Scanning Electron Microscopy.
About You
You will have an excellent understanding of imaging and characterisation techniques, with expertise in SEM and at least one related area (TEM, SPM, FIB). You will be a highly organised and experienced technician or researcher with broad experience of imaging/characterisation techniques. You will have a solid understanding of health and safety in the laboratory environment and be able to work closely with team members to operate technical facilities at the highest standard.
About the School
This post is within the School of Engineering and Materials Science (SEMS), a large, research-intensive School with circa 80 academics and around 50 postdoctoral research staff. There are around 1500 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students and 180 PhD students on the London campus. These are supported by an administrative and technical staff of circa 45. The staff and student body are international in make-up.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is an indefinite and full time post (35 hours per week) with an expected start date of January 2023. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £36,348-£42,592 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
