Main Duties
- Developing research objectives and proposals for the research group
- Designing and developing OPM sensors for brain imaging,
- Acquiring, analysing, and interpreting research data
- Taking part in writing proposals for European and national funding agencies
- Disseminating research findings (publications, seminars, posters)
- Supervising work of other people with different level of experience – from high school to PhD students
- Taking active part in interview and exam panels
- Contributing to School activities
- Contributing to administration and management of the research grant
Person Specification
- PhD in Atomic Physics or a related field (Physics, Engineering, Computer Science)
- Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and testing of an experimental apparatus
- Track record of writing papers as evidenced by publications or submitted manuscripts
- Strong programming skills (Python/Matlab)
- High motivation for interdisciplinary scientific collaboration
- Excellent command of English
Desirable expertise in some or all of the below areas:
- Previous experience in Optical Magnetometry or Atom-Light interactions
- Good 3D design skills (CAD)
- Familiar with simulation software such ANSYS, COMSOL
