The Division of Biomedical Sciences at Warwick Medical School has research themes in cell and developmental biology, microbiology & infection, and translational & experimental medicine. Our research activities, particularly in Mechanochemical Cell Biology and advanced imaging, require computing expertise and support. Current computational projects include tracking of kinetochores and vesicles in 4D, analysis of cell migration and the segmentation of subcellular structures.
This Research Fellow position is to provide computing support for research groups; for their image analysis, storage and automation needs. You will be line-managed by Prof Stephen Royle in the Division of Biomedical Sciences, but will interface with multiple research groups in the Division and/or Centre for Mechanochemical Cell Biology. We are searching for a driven, creative scientist who can develop novel computational tools and methods to catalyse our science.
You will have a good honours degree and have or expect shortly to have a relevant PhD. Experience of image analysis and programming is essential and familiarity with cell biology an advantage.
Where you have not yet been awarded your PhD, any offer made to you will be an under-appointment to the post of Research Assistant at a salary of £31,411 per annum. Once your PhD has been awarded and you have evidenced this, you will be appointed to the substantive post of Research Fellow at a salary within the range shown above.
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
Interview Date: TBC.
Closing date: 15 January 2023.
