Fully Funded PhD studentships in Energy Resilience and the Built Environment

Loughborough University

Overview

The School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering aims to be the world’s leading integrated centre for built environment research and education, attending to the entire lifecycle of both buildings and infrastructure through our research, teaching and enterprise programmes.

The EPSRC CDT in Energy Resilience and the Built Environment (ERBE) brings together established energy research centres at Loughborough University and University College London with the MaREI Research Centre (Ireland). We provide a unique opportunity to work with leading researchers on multi-disciplinary projects integrated with industry and provide a comprehensive skills and development programme. Find out more on our website.

Project details

The ERBE CDT is an integrated, four-year programme, which will provide the knowledge, research, and transferable skills to enable outstanding graduates from physics to social sciences to successfully pursue research in one of three themes:

Flexibility and resilience

Technology and system performance

Comfort, health, and well-being

By providing training in a rigorous, world-leading, stakeholder-shaped, outward-facing, and multi-centred research environment, the ERBE CDT will help the UK achieve the goals in the government's industrial strategy and clean growth plan.

You are welcome to apply with a research proposal based on a self-generated project idea, or you can write a research proposal based on one of the project ideas here.
