Job Description 

The School of Culture and Creativity offers a comprehensive, transformative and multidisciplinary approach to the studies of culture, media, design and creative industries. A range of programmes with a strong creative and practical focus is offered by the School of Culture and Creativity, including the Bachelor of Communication (Honours) in Animation and Interactive Media, the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Culture, Creativity and Management, the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Cinema and Television, the Bachelor of Communication (Hons) in Media Arts and Design, the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music Performance, Master of Arts in communication - Film TV & New Media Concentration, Master of Arts in communication - Interactive Media Studies Concentration.

The appointee should be a visionary leader and distinguished scholar, who is eligible for faculty appointment as a full professor, preferably in one or more of these fields: Media Arts and Design; Management in Arts and Cultural Industries; Cinema and Television; Landscape Architecture; Comparative Cultural Studies; Art History; Musical Arts. S/he reports to the President /Vice-President (Academic) and is a key member of the Senior Management Team of the College, contributing to the advancement of UIC. S/he is required to provide leadership for:

  1. execution of all School’s initiatives and planning;
  2. facilitation of academic and administrative development by providing effective guidance in all aspects of the School’s academic programmes, research endeavors, and community outreach activities.

Job Requirement

The candidate should have a PhD degree with substantial managerial and leadership experience with broad vision and strategic foresight as well as a strong commitment to the promotion and implementation of liberal arts education. It is highly preferred that the candidate is familiar with the higher education systems in both Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland.

Benefits

Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave and medical insurance.

Appointment Terms

Appointment to these positions will initially be made on a fixed-term contract of two or three years. Continuation of appointment beyond the initial term will be subject to mutual agreement.
