With a five-year undergraduate BDS curriculum, and a 3 year BSc in Dental Therapy and Hygiene there is a requirement to recruit Dental Therapist Clinical Supervisors. This will be to supervise the clinical training of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year BSc Dental Therapy and Hygiene students and Dental undergraduate students.
You would have the flexibility to work in all our Dental Education Facilities which are located in Derriford, Devonport, Exeter and Truro, along with our Simulated Dental Learning Environment in Portland Square.
Whilst developing technical skills is vital, the development of knowledge and skills in infection control and professional behaviour are also a key part of the supervisor’s role.
You will be required to work alongside a General Dental Practitioner to advise and assist students in clinical practice and to assess the student’s competency at all clinical procedures. Supervisors may also have the opportunity to work in the Simulated Dental Learning Environment (Phantom Head).

These are part-time, term-time positions on a claims-based contract working approximately 7 hours per week; initially for one year but may be on-going with annual reviews.
