Fellowship in the Society of Fellows in the Humanities, (Ref.: 518827)

The Society is seeking outstanding applicants for up to four Fellowships (appointed at the rank of Research Assistant Professor), to commence in June 2023 for a period of three years. Applicants working in the following disciplines are invited to apply: Art History, Museum and Conservation Studies, East Asian Languages and Literatures, Music (limited to Musicology, Theory and Ethnomusicology), and Philosophy.

The Society aims to establish a vibrant research community in which Fellows interact with each other and other members of the Faculty.  Fellows will be expected to teach two courses during the term of their appointment, and are required to submit a brief, annual summary of their activities and accomplishments. The University of Hong Kong is an English-medium university. A host department within the Faculty of Arts will be selected on the basis of a Fellow’s proposed area of research.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree conferred after January 1, 2020 but not later than June 30, 2023. They will not be currently employed in tenure-track positions.

A highly competitive package including housing allowance, medical benefits, annual leave, and conference and research support will be offered to the successful applicants. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.

The application will be vetted by a panel of scholars from across the spectrum of the arts and the humanities. Closes 7th February, 2023. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of March 2023.
