The Design and Creative Industries Programme (DCI) at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) is seeking a highly qualified person in the field of Creative Industries and Cultural Management to join our team.  

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) is emerging as one of the leading institutions of higher education in Asia. Over the last few years DCI has successfully organised several cultural and creative industries events, such as the Brunei Design Week 2020, six editions of the PRISM Short Film Festival, and the Spectrum DCI Graduation Exhibition, an annual event lead by final year DCI major students.  

FASS invites applications for a new faculty position in Creative Industries and Cultural Management.  

The successful candidate should hold a PhD in a related area or equivalent and will be expected to actively contribute to teaching, research and/or consultancy in arts and cultural management as well as other related areas; broker student engagement opportunities; and take responsibility for ensuring Creative Industries and Cultural Management parts of the curriculum remain aligned with industry practice. He/she will be expected to demonstrate broad industry-standard expertise across a range of practice areas within the creative industries, creative entrepreneurship, arts and cultural management. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in visual arts and performing arts.  

Apart from a strong publication record in relevant fields, candidates need to demonstrate a strong portfolio of practice-based creative work and must also possess a background in creative practice or industry.
