About Us
The Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell (MLC) https://www.har.mrc.ac.uk/ is located on the Harwell Campus, a thriving science hub specialising in technologies in the fields of health, space and energy. We focus on preclinical research using mouse models, which supports clinical research and therapy discovery. The MRC is an excellent place to develop yourself further and a range of training & development opportunities will be available to you, including professional registration with the Science Council.
The Pathology Manager will lead all aspects of the management of the clinical pathology platforms offered by the Mary Lyon Centre (MLC) at Harwell. This role is responsible for the running of the complex scientific assays which are offered as a service for scientific users of the MLC. This includes assay design, equipment purchases and maintenance, operational service delivery, data analysis and the provision of training to external researchers and within the operations team. They will line manage a team of 2 laboratory technicians. Clinical pathology includes clinical chemistry, haematology, immunoassays, multiplexing and flow cytometry processes.
