About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Oncology as a Teaching Fellow. You will play an important role primarily providing educational leadership to academic staff involved in the delivery of our new MSc in Applied Cancer Science, which launches in October 2023.
You will work alongside the Course Director to develop the course content including lectures, tutorials, and laboratory practical teaching. You will oversee the operational management of the course and be a key point of contact for students.
For this role we are looking for someone with a doctoral level qualification in a relevant area, or an MSc and significant relevant industry experience, to be able to guide students in developing industry-relevant practical skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching in a higher education setting, including programme or course management experience and dissertation supervision, and will have a postgraduate teaching qualification or HEA fellowship.
This is a full time post available on a 2-year fixed term contract, ideally to start in Spring 2023.
About you
You will need a PhD/DPhil in a suitable area e.g. cancer science, oncology, genetics, cell biology, immunology OR MSc in a suitable area, coupled with significant experience in industry, and have teaching experience within a Higher Education Institution.
