Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health, NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and with around 600 staff, is one of the largest departments in the Medical Sciences Division. The aim of Oxford Population Health is to reduce premature death and disability from human disease.
Within the NDPH, the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit is looking for a full-time sample laboratory assistant to work in the NDPH Wolfson Laboratory and help with the receipt and storage of study samples and general laboratory housekeeping duties under the guidance of the senior laboratory staff.
Your main responsibilities will be to follow standard operating procedures to assist with the receipt, inventory logging and sub-aliquoting, as required, of biological samples as well as operating procedures to support maintenance and testing of equipment and to support an emergency on call rota.
Minimum of three GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths with an excellent attention to detail and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and carry out repetitive tasks to a high degree of accuracy would be essential for this post.
The post is full-time (part-time considered, minimum of 80% full time hours) and fixed-term for 2 years.
