The Faculty of Law (CUHK LAW) is one of the most dynamic and successful law schools in Asia. Since admitting its first cohort of students in 2006, CUHK LAW has grown significantly in scale and reputation. In 2022-23, over 1,300 students are enrolled in CUHK LAW programmes (LLB, LLM, JD, PCLL and MPhil / PhD). CUHK LAW is proud of its excellence in teaching and research. The 2020 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) conducted by the Hong Kong University Grants Committee recognized CUHK LAW’s research strength by rating 83% of its research activity as “world leading” (4*) or “internationally significant” (3*). CUHK LAW has a strong international outlook with over twenty jurisdictions (by origin or training) represented by its academic staff. In 2018, CUHK LAW was the most international law school globally according to the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking exercise. CUHK LAW now invites applications for appointment(s) as Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor. Applications are welcome from scholars in all areas of Law. However, applicants with interests in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply: Company Law, Commercial Law, Banking and Finance Law, Law and Technology, Energy and Environmental Law, International Sales and Investment Law (incl. Project Finance and CISG), Evidence, Criminal Procedure, Land Law and Property Law (incl. Conveyancing), Legal History. 

CUHK LAW has a record of high-quality teaching and research. Appointees are expected to contribute to research, teaching and service. Applicants for appointment as Professor must have a demonstrated record of leadership in all three domains. Applicants for appointment as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor should be able to show their potential for leadership in all three domains. CUHK LAW encourages applications from candidates whose background and experience will enhance the diversity of its faculty. 

Appointment(s) will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.
