We are looking to appoint a Principal Research Fellow to help drive research across the Faculty of Health and undertake work that makes a substantial contribution to our existing and emerging areas of research excellence at national and international level. You will work with expert research teams across a wide range of areas including psychology, public health, nursing and allied health professions; building upon our established national and international reputation in these areas. Creating research synergies across the Faculty, encouraging multi-disciplinary research, and supporting early career researchers will be an important aspect of the role-holder’s work. You will also be expected to have an established independent programme of impactful research which will benefit from the national and international health research partnerships already established with the University.
The post will be appointed at Grade 8 or 9 (the latter is equivalent to Reader) in accordance with candidate experience and indicators of success. Applicants should be educated to a minimum of PhD level in an appropriate discipline or have significant relevant experience in addition to a relevant degree. Candidate’s research specialism should align with either psychology, nursing and allied health professions or public health. Within these areas our main specialisms include, but are not limited to, cardiovascular care, global public health, healthcare innovation and technology, substance use, health and forensic psychology and violence and adverse childhood experiences. Applicants are strongly encouraged to make contact with Professor Mark A. Bellis, Director of Research and Innovation (email via J.Lovelady@ljmu.ac.uk) in order to discuss the role and proposed areas of research, prior to submission.
LJMU is an equal opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all background and communities irrespective of age, transgender status, disability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity and religion or belief. All our appointments are made on merit.
Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
