About the Role
We are looking for a physiological or exercise scientist to occupy a fellowship-track post. The post-holder will be expected to support participant recruitment and provide physiological or exercise expertise to the IONA study and, with the support of the research team, to proactivity engage in seeking further funding to support further, independent work. The IONA study is a collaboration between Queen Mary University London, Asthma and Lung UK’s Centre for Applied Research and Imperial College London. IONA is a real world, air pollution exposure study using exercise science protocols to explore the impacts of non-tailpipe air pollution (air pollution from road, brake and tyre wear) on health markers in people living with asthma.
About You
You should have an MSc or higher in exercise science, physiology or similar. You will have previous experience collecting physiological measurements in research or clinical settings and have a good understanding of study design and good clinical practice. You should have an interest in developing a career in asthma, environmental health, or exercise science research.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 8 months, with an expected start date of March 2023. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £36,348 - £42,592 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
