Immediately Required  Electrical and Electronic Engineering Laboratory, Technician  Full-Time [40hours/week] OR  Part-Time [24 hours/week] for 12 months contract with possible upgrading to permanent position. Part-Time Salary will be based on Pro-Rata.

The College seeking Proficient Electrical Engineering Technician for possible permanent appointment. You will provide technical demonstration and instruction to students in Electrical Machines, Electronics & instrumentation & Control in our well equipped Electrical Engineering labs. The role primarily supports undergraduate students in the use of analytical laboratory equipment, making and constructing sample experiments for teaching and research.

Job Description

The role requires experience of working in Engineering laboratories instructing and supporting students, maintaining laboratory facilities and equipment. Ideally you will have experience of working in a technical environment in FE/HE institutions and/or have broad based commercial or industrial experience working in a relevant environment.
You must be able to communicate clearly and manage your own time well in a busy environment. You should have an enthusiastic, proactive and innovative approach to the learning environment and you should be IT literate. You must be aware of the Health and Safety requirements associated with supporting users in a laboratory environment.

Qualifications Required

A minimum of Bachelor`s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required and intensive industrial experience
4 years work experience as a technician in industrial or educational environment is required if you do not hold a degree qualification or equivalent

CPD/CRB and some laboratory research experience will be required. Driving License desirable but not essential.
