The above full-time fixed-term post is available immediately until 31/7/2024. We welcome part-time applicants, although ideally we require a minimum of 3 days per week with us. We would consider applications for mainly remote working, provided you are willing and able to travel for face-to-face teaching as needed and occasional team meetings. We teach in various locations such as Exeter, Bristol, the Midlands, London and the South-East. Please indicate on your application your preference for the number of days you would be looking to work in the post and the areas you would most easily be able to travel to. Although we are recruiting posts on a fixed-term basis it is highly likely, subject to funding, that the posts can be extended. As such we are hoping to recruit staff that are committed to this role rather than wanting a short-term contract.
CEDAR Clinical Training Programmes
CEDAR aims to grow and develop the mental health workforce, through new Psychological Professions roles, upskilling and supporting the application of evidence-based practice to other professional groups across varied health and social care settings.
We offer a wide-ranging portfolio of professional training programmes, from Undergraduate up to Masters level, through to post-qualification and advanced practice courses.
The role
Do you have sound knowledge of PWP working and Step 2 evidence-based practice? Are you an excellent communicator with a person-centred approach? Would you like to help new PWP apprentices develop their clinical understanding and support them along their journey to becoming qualified practitioners?
Due to the continued expansion of the PWP Apprenticeship, we are looking for dedicated, organised, caring individuals who hold a PWP qualification to become part of the CEDAR clinical education team. If you have an interest in sharing and developing great Step 2 practice and in supporting and advising PWP apprentices through their training, then we would welcome your application.
The job role entails delivery on the PWP teaching and training both remotely and in-person at a number of locations which currently include London, Bristol, Birmingham and Exeter. You will contribute to the continued development of training materials, help deliver training days and lectures, give feedback on role plays and contribute to marking clinical and academic assessments. You will act as a personal tutor and a point of contact for apprentices and their workplace mentors (supervisors).
This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to and shape the delivery of the PWP apprenticeship so that it becomes as inclusive and effective as possible. You’ll be joining a team of hardworking, committed and supportive practitioners and educators whose aim is to provide the most effective training experience possible in conjunction with our NHS and IAPT partners.
This position will hopefully become a long-term role as funding continues, so we would particularly welcome applications from those interested in developing a longer-term career as a clinical educator/associate lecturer within CEDAR. For those looking for career progression, there has been an excellent track record of development opportunities to lecturer and beyond.
Please ensure you read our Job Description and Person Specification (available on the university's website, accessed by the apply button) for full details of this role.
Before submitting an application you may wish to discuss the post further by initially contacting Dona-Marie Anderson D.Anderson4@exeter.ac.uk or Siobhan Gilliam s.gilliam@exeter.ac.uk.
