An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the School of Arts and Creative Technologies at the University for a Technician Demonstrator – Photography.
Working closely with academic tutors, the role holder will be responsible for providing support for student learning, teaching and research across the portfolio of academic disciplines including support for students’ projects and self-directed study in the workshops and studios.
The role holder will be expected to work both independently, and as an effective member of a team of demonstrators / technicians in providing a technical support service which meets the needs of academic staff and students, and enables optimum use of University resources. The role includes support and demonstration of a range of equipment, associated processes and first line maintenance.
You should possess good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to issue equipment, tools and materials, stock controls and maintain accurate records.
A first degree / higher qualification in a related subject is essential and the University is particularly interested in candidates with a broad skillset including studio lighting, multiple formats of digital capture (including capture one),digital imaging related software and traditional processes. A willingness to achieve HEA accreditation within dedicated timescales would also be desirable.
