Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a research project entitled “Small molecule modulation of metabolic function and new target discovery in human cellular models”, working under the supervision of Professor Angela Russell for a period of up to 24 months. This project is funded by Novo Nordisk and is carried out in close collaboration with scientists at Novo Nordisk Research Centre Oxford (NNRCO).

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an industry-academia collaboration with world leading researchers and contribute to the development of innovative new therapeutic approaches for metabolic disorders, an area of significant unmet medical need.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or Chemical Biology or a related area (or be close to completion) prior to taking up your appointment. You should have expertise in the production of compounds for a collaborative project. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small-scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work for presentations, publications and deadlines. You will test hypothesis and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypothesis as required.
