The Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU) is a major international research institute within the Nuffield Department of Population Health, and is one of the world’s leading centres for research into chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart disease. Located in the CTSU, the Wolfson Laboratories have over thirty staff and provide core laboratory services for the large scale clinical trials and studies led by the CTSU and its collaborators.
As Laboratory Training and Development Officer you will work with the Laboratory Training Manager to ensure that individual training and professional learning needs are met for all personnel across all laboratory section. You will identify training needs, create and evaluate training programmes and support with the development and maintenance of a new database to ensure evidence is recorded appropriately.
To be considered you will educated to degree level with a BSc in a biological science discipline (or equivalent), hold significant experience of working in an accredited/regulated laboratory and using a wide range of laboratory techniques. You will have evidence of training and developing staff, supporting staff induction, competency assessment and recording evidence. You will have excellent planning and organisation skills, good interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate (both written and oral) with a range of stakeholders and formal training to train others.
The post is full-time (part-time considered) and fixed-term for 2 years.
