Chemistry Tutor

JOB OVERVIEW

The University of Sheffield International College and its programmes are provided by Study Group in collaboration with the University of Sheffield.  We are currently looking for a Chemistry Tutor (lab) to join The University of Sheffield International College.

In this job, you will deliver our Science provision, teaching groups of international students on our Level 3 (International Foundation Year) programme, both online and face-to-face. Our class sizes are on average around 18 students, and you will be given the autonomy to be innovative and engaging to enhance the learning experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• In this job, you will deliver our Chemistry provision, teaching groups of international students on our Level 3 programme (teaching Foundation level students). The role is primarily to support laboratory teaching, with some opportunities for classroom teaching. Our class sizes are on average between 18-20 students, and you will be given the autonomy to be innovative and engaging to enhance the learning experience. You will undertake marking and feedback provision on a formative and summative basis, and you will have the chance to support the development of the students’ independent learning.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Experience of teaching or demonstrating in a chemistry related discipline within post-16 education (Essential)
• Assessment marking experience at a minimum of level 3 (Essential)
• Experience of working with international students and knowledge of their particular needs (Desirable)
