Base: Hybrid working for the foreseeable future. Two days working in the Royal Free Charity office with three days working from home.
The Royal Free Charity is seeking an ambitious and talented Research Programme Manager to join our growing Grants and Services team.
This is an exciting time to join the team and the Royal Free Charity as we aim to significantly develop our research funding and are expanding the team to reflect this ambition.
This is a crucial role within the team with opportunities to work across a variety of research-related areas. You will be the primary lead on research funding and strategic funding initiatives.
The Research Programme Manager will report to the Head of Grants and Research.
The purpose of the role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end grants management cycle including monitoring awards and assessing impact. You will also lead on implementing our research funding strategy working with different stakeholders to realise our ambition.
You will develop and implement patient and public involvement in our research funding and research activities as we seek to embed the patient voice in our work.

The team
We work strategically with the Royal Free London (RFL) to align our research funding with strategic priority areas. Our grant programmes support research at RFL and University College London.
The team’s responsibilities include overseeing the charity’s grant funding programmes ensuring they adhere to high governance standards, monitoring the progress and impact of the projects we fund, and disseminating information and supporting other teams within the organisation.
