Summary of the role
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Dr Maedeh Mansoubi. This SBRI-funded post is available from 01/02/2023 to 31/01/2024. We are seeking to appoint a Trial Manager to play a key role in our recently funded innovative trial EvolveRehab. Here we set out to adapt and evaluate an established remote, VR rehabilitation hardware/software tool EvolveRehab for training upper limb function in people early after Stroke with functional arm and hand impairments, and thus enable Stroke survivors to engage with more individualised progressive prescribed therapy in their home setting to increase therapy time with minimal input from clinical teams and improve outcomes for similar costs.
The post holder will work closely with other researchers within the Exeter BRC and Intersect@Exeter groupings, across the Universities of Bristol and Southampton and with the Research Lead EvolveRehab. You will join a dynamic, vibrant and growing research team at Exeter. This post would be suitable for a graduate or postgraduate seeking wider experience in applied clinical research to develop their portfolio for research associate posts, or for an individual with experience in trial management and seeking to develop their expertise in trial management
About you
The successful applicant will be able to complete NHS ethics, manage the project budget present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD in, Rehabilitation Science, Sports Sciences, Physical Therapy or Public Health or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to communicate with patients, conduct interviews, have teamwork skills, travel to the sites and visit patients at their homes, and have data analysis skills.
