The role
The Department of Law and Criminology is looking for a Principal Lecturer to lead development in both the Policing and Community Justice Learning (Probation) subject groups and teach in these important programmes.
You will be also expected to make broad contributions to the academic work of the Department of Law and Criminology (DLC) and the Helena Kennedy Centre (HKC) including teaching and related duties across the undergraduate law programme.
The Department of Law and Criminology comprises a diverse mix of colleagues with a broad range of academic and professional practice experience. The primary focus is on an applied curriculum underpinned by strong theoretical knowledge, the development and application of research skills and the enhancement of graduate attributes.
You must have a good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to community justice practice. You must also have the ability to inspire, enthuse and connect with a range of stakeholders e.g. students and external clients from a wide range of backgrounds.
