The School of Law and Social Sciences at London South Bank University is seeking to appoint an experienced Teacher Educator in post compulsory education to support development of our programmes in Further and Higher Education. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, outward looking, multi-disciplinary teaching and learning community committed to a socially, just globally responsible approach to higher education. Located in the heart of London our school is close to practice, research led and inter-connected to a well-established network of partners. This enables us to offer a first-class vocationally orientated education for our students grounded in the contemporary issues and debates of our constituent disciplines and a strong sense of ethical responsibility to the communities we serve. We are looking for well-qualified, values-led senior academic to help us to develop a new offer in Further and Higher Education as new priority areas.

About you
We seek an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated academic with track record of developing and coordinating teacher education programmes for the post compulsory sector to help develop our portfolio. This will involve the opportunity to develop and lead our Academic Professional Apprenticeship (APA). The APA is aimed at early career academic professionals working in higher education including professional practice with less than 3 years’ experience and will be a flagship programme for LSBU helping to shape a new generation of higher education teachers. The post-holder will also contribute to developing our work in the Further Education sector including our CPD portfolio.

The skills and experience you will need to be successful
The Successful candidate will be an experienced Teacher Educator (with FE, HE or HE in FE experience) have a good honours degree in a relevant subject with an appropriate subject specialism and a postgraduate qualification or relevant professional experience or PhD/EdD (or near to completion) in an appropriate or closely related discipline. They will also be Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Details about the role
This is a permanent, full-time contract – 35 hours per week.

Please note that the University is operating a hybrid working model which means a mix of working on site and from home, confirmation of days worked on campus are arranged with the line manager.
