The Faculty of Creative Arts, Technologies and Science is seeking to appoint a Head to lead our School of Computer Science and Technology. The successful candidate will lead academic provision in our largest School across its portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, higher degree apprenticeships and higher technical qualifications including courses accredited by professional and statutory regulatory bodies. The successful applicant will hold international standing in an area of Computer Science or Engineering that synergises with the portfolio of courses in the School. They will be required to exercise effective leadership, demonstrate vision, and empower others to deliver strategic objectives of the School and Faculty. The School also has a number of collaborative partnerships both in the UK and overseas. Experience of Partnership management is desirable.
Working closely with the Executive Dean, the postholder will provide strategic and operational leadership, have line-management responsibility for staff and will represent the School, Faculty and University on groups, committees, boards within the university and in external forums.

Applicants should be able to evidence effective academic leadership, hold an outstanding record of teaching and research experience and have a track record of external research funding. We will also consider whether the successful applicant meets the University’s criteria for conferment of a professorial title.
Interviews will be held on w/c 20 March 2023.
