We are seeking applications for the above posts in the Discipline of Podiatric Medicine, School of Health Sciences at the University of Galway. The appointments will be at the lecturer level (above the bar). The successful candidates will be expected to teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and contribute to research and scholarly activities within the Discipline of Podiatric Medicine. The Discipline of Podiatric Medicine is housed in the Áras Moyola Building whereby we have state of the art facilities for academic and clinical skills teaching and research.
The post- holders will support the BSc (Hons) Podiatric Medicine programme; the only BSc programme in Podiatry within the Republic of Ireland. The B.Sc. (Hons) Podiatry programme is designed to educate and train those who wish to pursue a professional career in podiatry, as a health care professional, who specialises in the management of disease and disorder of the lower limb and foot. The programme design recognises best practice and aligns with national and international standards. The post holders will play an important role in ensuring that the curriculum continues to meet professional and regulatory body requirements and keeps abreast with changing approaches to service delivery within the health care sector.
The post holders will have an influential role, supporting the BSc Podiatric Medicine programme, in ongoing curricular development and innovation, in the delivery of academic and clinical skills teaching, clinical supervision and through student support. They will support the Head of Discipline of Podiatric Medicine in establishing new postgraduate opportunities, including graduate entry and postgraduate taught programmes.

Salary: € 70,849 to €92,148 per annum (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011 (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University’s Remuneration policy.
