Do you have the experience and skills to deliver a quality administration service as part of the Research Design Service South East, hosted by the School of Sport and Health Sciences?  If so, then we want to hear from you.

We are recruiting a new member to our team of Research Advisers and Professional Services staff, as part of the Research Design Service South East (RDS SE) Sussex, hosted by the School of Sport and Health Sciences. Part of your role will be to look after our finances, be involved in outreach and engagement activities in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex region, and to a lesser extent deal with Human Resources issues.

You will be working in a highly cooperative team and demonstrate flexibility, often engaging with others through MS Teams, Zoom and also Google Hangout. Activities will include: servicing meetings, budget monitoring and processing financial transactions and support for events and communications including web site and social media.

In order to be successful, you should have:

  • previous experience of working in an office environment
  • the ability to work as part of a team
  • experience of planning and prioritising a range of work activities, meeting sometimes conflicting work deadlines
  • good communication skills, and able to communicate complex procedures and information clearly
  • familiarity with office software including spreadsheets, and a willingness to learn using finance software.
  • Occasional travel locally or in the region may be required.

Some degree of flexibility in working pattern would be welcome; you should specify your preferred working pattern on the application.  The current contract will end on 30th Sept 2023, but applications for future funding has been submitted.
