We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong AWS expertise to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality software solutions that leverage the power of AWS cloud services.

This role will be integral to our Engineering chapter in helping make technical decisions and upskilling more junior members of the team. Therefore, to be successful in this role you must have strong experience in leading a team and helping come up with creative solutions based on strong technical reasoning.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering innovative digital solutions using a cloud-first approach with modern technologies to enable our staff and students to achieve their goals.
  • Help build our new digital platform on AWS, working with modern technologies, making recommendations and helping to identify the right tools for the job.
  • Work as part of an agile team using modern frameworks to develop and support innovative solutions and solve problems.
  • Lead the development of automated testing capabilities around digital development, deployment, and software testing in a DevOps environment.
  • Provide technical leadership and helping upskill the more junior members of the Engineering chapter.

We’re really looking for…

  • Expert level AWS cloud fluency
  • Demonstrable professional experience in computer programming and software engineering.
  • Experience in mentoring and evaluating the work of others
  • Experience of leading a project to a successful conclusion
  • Programming language and API design. Domain specific languages. + experience working with databases and APIs
  • Ability to build clean scalable solutions and bring these ideas to life!
  • Someone who can engage across the board, from Devops to Stakeholders
  • Someone who is not afraid to bring new ideas to table and who wants to make a massive positive impact on the future of education
