We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Lecturer within our Education team. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research in Education, teach primarily in the MEd programme (TESOL pathway) while also contributing to teaching on other programmes. Knowledge of, and an interest in, Research Methods, Reflective Practice and Leadership would be an advantage. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage with wider University and professional communities.

We are building an intellectually stimulating, inclusive, supportive and diverse academic community focussed on social justice and improving the lives of people, groups and communities at local, national and global levels. The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in this academic community. Your priorities will include:

  • Contributing to one of the School’s or Institute of Social Science Research’s (ISSR) research themes
  • Providing excellent teaching and learning experiences for students on appropriate subjects in the School at undergraduate and postgraduate levels Participating in service and leadership activities
  • Contributing to public engagement, impact and enterprise activities We are looking for someone who has:
  • Expertise in teaching TESOL at Master’s level
  • Experience of providing high quality education to students in Education programmes
  • The ability to produce high quality research
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and to help build a team ethos
