Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University?

Come and be part of an innovative and influential University department delivering excellent IT and business services to a leading Russell Group institution. With a reputation for engaging staff and students in partnership to deliver services, for three years running UK students have voted us best for IT support. We need to recruit the best staff, invested in higher education and dedicated to supporting sector leading learning, teaching and research – and that’s why we need you…

This 18-month apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity to start or change to a career in IT support and to gain a recognised apprenticeship qualification (Level 3 Information Communications Technician). We are looking for someone with a passion for IT support and the ability to deliver excellent customer service to join an established, dynamic and friendly team to provide responsive IT support for the University.

This is a varied and exciting role where you will be an integral member of the IT Asset Support team and will provide both proactive and responsive hardware and software support to staff and students. You will learn to prepare, stage and dispatch IT equipment. You will develop your skills to provide advice and support to customers’ requests both remote and face-to-face. You will keep equipment safe and virus free; configure network services software and support issues on PC and Macintosh computers including the security of devices. You will provide IT support for specialist events throughout the year and support workspace relocations.

You will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent qualifications/experience) and have a commitment to complete the apprenticeship program. You will have a good understanding of customer service, with effective communication and time management skills. You will have an interest in computer operating systems, hardware and software to both analyse and solve problems. You will be able to work with accuracy and with sensitive data.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a team who are advancing operational maturity and adopting new ways of working, embedding a ‘service first’ culture and promoting a continuous improvement ethos.

We are committed to enabling our employees to work in a hybrid model with flexibility over when, where and how to achieve the required outputs, in discussion with your manager.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
