We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher - Chemistry & Cancer to join the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research.
You will be part of larger team carrying out research into identifying small molecule inhibitors for newly identified RNA m6A enzymes. You will be co-supervised by Dr Paul Brannen at CMD of Oxford and Professor Yang Shi at Ludwig Cancer Research and work in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of other chemists, biochemists and cell biologists and provide medicinal chemistry support for the project. Your primary responsibility will be to design and synthesise new small molecules for RNA m6A enzymes with potential applications in cancer.
It is essential that you hold a PhD (or close to completion) in organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry, and have demonstrable experience in small molecule synthesis and characterization. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and to collaborate with colleagues on a range of diverse projects. You will be well-organised, be able to keeping accurate and thorough records with the ability to rapidly adapt to changing project priorities. A good publication record in chemistry, including experience independently writing scientific reports and manuscripts will be also required.
