The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health are offering NIHR Clinical Lectureships in the following specialties:

Plastic Surgery, Clinical Oncology, Intensive Care Medicine, Neurosciences, Rheumatology, Histopathology Medical Oncology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Psychiatry, Surgical Oncology/General Surgery, Paediatrics, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Emergency Medicine, Dermatology Nephrology (Renal Medicine), Gastroenterology, Clinical Genetics, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Respiratory Medicine

The Clinical Lectureships are designed to offer postdoctoral support for a clinician having recently completed a higher degree (PhD, MD or equivalent). Trainees must also have a National Training Number (NTN) prior to starting the post.

And

Academic Clinical Lectureships for Nursing Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals. This is a university post with the clinical base at:

Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT) Nursing or AHP research in areas of frailty, although other clinical areas may be considered. The Clinical Lecturers will be appointed to MFT where the 50% clinical training element of the lectureships will depend on discipline and clinical experience of the post holder. The Clinical Lecturer will be part of the vibrant and multi-professional Manchester Clinical Academic Centre The Manchester Clinical Academic Centre (MCAC) is a collaboration between Manchester University Foundation Trust (MFT) and The School of Health Sciences at the University of Manchester 

The Clinical Lectureships are designed to offer postdoctoral support for NMAHPS who have recently completed a higher degree (PhD, or equivalent) and currently holding a Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) or other relevant allied health registration. The University invites exceptional and ambitious applicants to join our successful Integrated Academic Training (IAT) programme which was awarded to the Faculty by the National Insitute of Health Research (NIHR).

The University invites exceptional and ambitious applicants to join our successful Integrated Academic Training (IAT) programme which was awarded to the Faculty by the National Institute of Health Research Trainee Academy. You will be expected to be medically qualified, have completed core training, obtained a higher degree (e.g. PhD or MD) or equivalent and have evidence of clinical leadership. 

The post will be funded on a full-time basis for the duration of remaining specialty training (until CCT) or a maximum of 4-years, whichever is soonest.  Appointments will be subject to satisfactory annual review.  You will spend 50% of your time undertaking research and developing your academic skills and 50% time completing specialty training.  It is expected that the Clinical Lecturers will have applied for National Clinician Scientist Awards within the 4-year period.

Salary

  • ACRST3+: £51,017 / £58,398 per annum (hospital medicine CLs)
  • ACT5H / ACT6H/ ACT7H/ ACT10H:  £70,208 - £91,009 pro rata per annum (Primary Care CLs)
  • £43,414 - £53,353 University Grade 7 (NMAHP CLs)
