Open ended contract - Permanent; full time hours - 35 hours per week.

We are looking for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Business Economics.

The opportunity:

The University of Edinburgh Business School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer within its Management Science & Business Economics Group.  We are seeking outstanding candidates with a proven record of high quality teaching and research who could make a significant contribution to the Group’s activities in the area of Business Economics.  Specifically, we are looking for candidates with skills appropriate to the delivery of on-campus and online courses across UG, PGT and MBA levels in the field of Business Economics and to pursue research in a related area. Researchers with expertise or interest in financial sector, especially in credit risk or banking, are particularly encouraged to apply. We would also like to see the willingness and ability to take on managerial and administrative duties, such as leadership of degree programmes. This is a full-time, open-ended appointment.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A clear research agenda with success in achieving high-quality journal publications.
  • A commitment to  other research-related contributions including participation in international conferences, supervision of research students, grant applications and consultancy projects.
  • The ability to design and deliver courses for online as well as on-campus students at all levels, contribute to, and where appropriate, lead the design and delivery of degree programmes.
  • A commitment to excellence in classroom and digital teaching, and to UG/PG dissertation supervision.
  • The ability to engage confidently and competently with policy makers, practitioners and other non-academic stakeholders.
