Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen as we look to appoint a Deputy Director of Operations (College Operations), who has delegated responsibility from the Director of Operations for ensuring the effective provision of strategic & operational support to the College, and leadership of School-specific and general administration matters. The Deputy Director of Operations leads on the development and implementation of strategic plans, policies and procedures and budgets to enable the College and University to deliver on strategic ambitions.
This is a busy, dynamic, and challenging post working at the heart of the College supporting the Director of Operations. The role has line management responsibility, currently through the Head of Operations, for the Operations Managers in the Schools and Institutes within the College, and the College Hub (which provides executive support to senior members of the College and general administrative support for college activities).
The role holder is a key member of the College Professional Services Senior Management Team and will play an integral role in leading the ongoing development and successful implementation of the College strategy and ensure the continuing success and future development of the College’s activities. The role holder will demonstrate a substantial degree of independent professional responsibility and discretion over a broad portfolio of activities. The role carries a high degree of leadership, advisory and developmental responsibility for the professional services staff and activity across the College. Importantly, the DDoOp works collaboratively in partnership with a range of senior colleagues in the College and across the other Colleges and areas of Professional Services.
The role holder is expected to provide broad leadership across Professional Services teams and themes, leading projects as appropriate. You will be able to work without direct supervision and exercise a high level of discretion and self-motivation, working simultaneously on multiple complex projects. You will act as a key member of the Director of Operations’ Senior Management Team and represent the Director of Operations as required.
