UCC wishes to appoint an experienced academic to the role of Lecturer in Human Geography and GIS reporting to the Head of Department. The Department of Geography seeks to appoint in Human Geography & GIS to complement and expand the Department’s existing interdisciplinary research and teaching interests in geoinformatics. The successful candidate for this lectureship will teach in GIS and an area of human geography to undergraduates, and play a central role in teaching and co-ordinating the MSc Geoinformatics. The successful candidate will be expected to seek research funding and supervise postgraduate and early career researchers. The appointee will also support the development of the BA/BSc and MA/MSc programmes within the Geography Department.
The appointee will be expected to develop international links, and collaborate with research groups within UCC such as ISS21, MaREI and the Environmental Research Institute. They will align to the Collective Social Futures area on appointment - https://www.ucc.ie/en/futures/#about-ucc-futures

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer (Below the Bar) Salary Scale: €37,168 - €65,127 (Scale B) / €39,156 - €61,971 (Scale A)
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
