About us
UCL’s Student Psychological and Counselling Services (SPCS) provide holistic support for all students at UCL through undertaking psychological assessments of individual students to help them identify and solve their problems and providing high-quality, time-limited individual Psychodynamic Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, psychiatric support and personal development workshops both face to face and online via telephone and video. We liaise with and refer to other professionals within and outside SPCS as appropriate, to provide optimal care/treatment planning for students.
About the role
The successful candidate will be required to provide time-limited individual and group Psychodynaminc Counselling to a diverse group of university students with a variety of presenting problems, ranging from mild distress to clinically significant disorders. They will also take part in the daily triaging rota of s! tudent re gistrations and, where appropriate, follow up within 24 hours any students of concern.
About you
The successful candidate would be UKCP, BPC or BACP accredited. They would have experience of providing short-term/brief individual Psychodynamic Counselling to individuals and groups, both face to face and online via telephone and video. They would have experience of working with students or young adults with people with a wide range of mental health problems which would include diagnosed mental health illnesses. They will need good computer skills with emails, Word and the use of a database for record keeping.
