The Tung Auditorium is a state-of-the-art, high specification concert hall which delivers an outstanding live music performance experience. Situated within the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre with world-class teaching and learning at its heart, The Tung Auditorium celebrates the University’s cultural contribution to the city and seeks to offer an open and inclusive programme, enhancing engagement with the arts locally, regionally and nationally.
We are seeking experienced Front of House Duty Managers to lead the operational delivery of all concerts and events at this brand new venue. Reporting to the Front of House Venue Manager
this post will be a member of a dedicated team supporting The Tung Auditorium as a public facing venue, receiving many thousands of visitors every year. The role holder will oversee a team of Front of House Ushers and Box Office Cashiers for each event and ensure all events are delivered smoothly.
The successful applicant will have previous experience in Duty Management, Event Management, Front of House or customer service and will be comfortable leading a team. If you meet the essential requirements of the person specification we would encourage you to apply.
This role is ad hoc and shift based, allocated according to the requirements of concerts and events which will not follow a regular pattern. For this reason, this role is a zero hours contract with shifts allocated by rota one month in advance. Some events will take place during office hours; however, the majority are expected to be during evenings and weekends.
We are conscious that there is a lack of diversity within the music industry and in Higher Education, and we therefore particularly encourage applications from individuals who self-identify as members of groups who are often under-represented.
The School is committed to the University’s Diversity and Equality agenda and in 2021 has been awarded Athena SWAN Bronze status.
The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received.
