About the role
In this exciting new role, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of the University’s academic practice development provision for all academic and teaching-related professional service staff at all career stages. Working with the academic lead for academic professional development, and institutional partners, you will develop an Academic Professional Development Framework to support the development of educators’ practices; thereby enhancing the educational experience for all of our students.
You will take a lead role in the University’s accredited academic development programmes and activities; managing the relationship with Advance HE and overseeing our taught and experiential route to Advance HE Fellowships.
To facilitate the pipeline of learning and teaching leadership, you will oversee schemes to award internal recognition and support national acclaim, and support the development of pedagogic research and the scholarship of learning and teaching.
About you
We are looking with someone with a good understanding of inclusive programme development and design and experience of providing pedagogic support to academic schools. You will be at least a Senior Fellow of Advance HE, with a detailed knowledge of the UKPSF and experience in using it in practice and in assessing applications to award Fellowships.
You will have a readiness to challenge the status quo and proactively solve problems. You will also have the ability to engage others in learning and to influence decision makers using your excellent communication skills.
