About the Role

We are looking for a self-motivated student systems analyst and developer to help us support a wide range of staff and student processes at Queen Mary University of London.
The Student Systems team provides development and operational support for Student Systems which underpin the University’s administration processes behind the Student Lifecycle. The Student Systems Team supports business critical processes such as admissions processes, enrolment, module selection, research degrees, awards, student enquiry, student immigration status, regulatory reporting, timetabling, alumni and more. The core system used for these processes is the Student Information System (Tribal SITS/eVision).

Main duties and responsibilities

  • The Student Systems Analyst & Developer will play a full and active role in the maintenance of student systems within the University
  • Use technical knowledge & innovation skills to develop new enhancements, features and processes in both SITS:Vision and e:Vision (MySIS), To meet the Universities strategic aim.
  • The analysis and development of SITS:Vision and e:Vision (Mysis) Apply specialist expertise of Tribal Group's SITS:Vision to respond to and resolve customer requests/incidents/problems, providing 2nd/3rd line support
  • In consultation with the Team Manager plan and progress project-related work.
  • Work in partnership with academic, professional and medical managers, staff and students, to identify issues, developments and problems which may have a University-wide impact; propose solutions to ensure systems continue to meet the needs of the University.
  • Supporting testing of the Student Information System (SITS) and associated software including testing of enhancements, new releases and upgrades
  • To contribute to the continual improvement and development of student information applications to meet the changing needs of the University
  • The role is pivotal in ensuring continuous Development and service improvement of the Student Record System – SITS.

You should apply if

You have a proven track record of building functionality using Tribal SITS and eVision as well as performing essential “behind the scenes” tasks to keep SITS running smoothly. You have a versatile and analytical approach to solving problems with a keen eye for opportunities to improve processes and systems.

The post is a full time indefinite appointment. Salary is on our Grade 5 scale and will be in the range £40,386 to £47,414 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
