During this period, City has made significant investments in its academic staff, its estate and its infrastructure and continues to work towards realising its vision of being a leading global university.

Background

City has recently invested a significant amount of funding in an institution-wide Career Activation Programme to embed Career Focus across the undergraduate curriculum and to ensure all undergraduate students gain professional-level experience.

Within the School of Communication & Creativity (SCC), this plan is implemented by designing new modules that, amongst other things, provide interdisciplinary Professional Level Experience via live project briefs.

Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will be working closely with the Associate Dean for Engagement, Enterprise and Employability to support the implementation of City’s Career Activation Programme and ensure that professional level experience can be delivered at scale.

The post holder will design, develop and deliver employability related modules across the SCC school as well as liaising with the relevant professional services to improve the employability prospects and experiences of SCC students, working towards increasing positive graduate outcomes.

Person Specification

This is an exciting new role for an individual with the ambition to play a key part in the development and delivery of employability education in the School of Communication & Creativity.

We are looking for either an academic specialising in employability and career development, or someone with professional experience relevant to SCC with an interest in higher education and teaching. A working knowledge of the job sectors relevant to SCC students is considered an asset for this role.

Additional Information

City offers a sector-leading salary, pension scheme and benefits including a comprehensive package of staff training and development.

The role is available from 01 September 2023 or later by negotiation.

Closing date: 27th February 2023 at 11:59pm.
