The Eden Centre for Education Enhancement is LSE’s centre of education expertise with a clear focus on academic staff development, curriculum enrichment, inclusive education and digital innovation. It is key to delivering the School’s LSE 2030 ‘Educate for Global Impact’ strategic educational objectives. The Eden Centre brings together educational, technological, and developmental expertise from across the School, supports the development of academic staff, enables curriculum enrichment, leads on School-wide inclusive education initiatives, works in partnership with students and provides digital education innovation & platforms, in both face-to-face and online learning contexts.

We are now recruiting for our new Research and Evaluation Officer (REO) for inclusive education post. This post will contribute to the development of inclusive education and research activities as related to evaluation within the inclusive education team. The role combines the specialist technical knowledge of inclusive education in higher education with qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation skills. The role will work closely with the Head of Inclusive Education and members of the Inclusive Education team. The role also requires close collaboration with departments and research centres and partners. The REO will demonstrate specialist expertise, demonstrated with research, evaluation, writing and analytical skills, in areas of interest for the School.

Candidates should have:

  • A PhD, or working towards completion of a PhD, in the social sciences.
  • The ability to conduct research on substantive research topics that relate to inclusive education.
  • Advanced understanding and experience of quantitative and qualitative research methods and the ability to apply the necessary methodology.
  • Experience of curriculum design.
  • Advanced knowledge of NVivo/SPSS or other data analysis software.
