The Faculty of Public Health and Policy is seeking 2 x Project Coordinators to join its professional services team.

The Faculty of Public Health and Policy comprises three departments:

  • Department of Global Health and Development
  • Department of Health Services Research and Policy
  • Department of Public Health, Environments and Society

Working across departments as and when needed, the postholders will lead the financial management and administrative coordination of a portfolio of research grants within the Faculty. You will be the primary point of contact for these projects, and will provide guidance and support across the research lifecycle, including pre-award (grant application / bid development), contracting, reporting and audit. You will work closely Principal Investigators and collaborators in overseas institutions, as part of a team of administrative staff reporting to Department Managers.

The successful applicant will have excellent numerate and financial skills, including proven ability to monitor budgets and prepare accurate projections and reports. You will be able to use your initiative to solve problems, and be able to manage projects independently.

You will be able to manage your own time and workload effectively, and be able to communicate complex information clearly. Experience of research grant finance would be an advantage, but experienced applicants from other sectors are welcome. No overseas travel is currently planned, but this may be a possibility in the future. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term for 3 years from start date. The post is funded by the faculty of PHP and is available immediately. 

The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale Grade 5 in the range £36,438 - £41,829 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in the Tavistock Place building of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

LSHTM operates a hybrid working model allowing a mix of on-site and at home working for this role. Staff are expected to work onsite eight days per month.  Onsite working days are flexible and can be agreed with Line Managers.
