The role

In the Faculty of Health Sciences, Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) is used to support both staff and students in their use of digital technologies to support the medical, dental and veterinary courses. Our TEL software provides platforms for students compiling professional portfolios, undertaking online assessment and invigilation, clinical exam marking software and more. This ensures students have a great learning experience whilst minimising unnecessary paperwork for all involved.

We are looking for someone to join our busy and friendly team to provide front line support to both staff and students in their use of the TEL software. This also involves supporting the planning of workload over the academic year and resolving queries escalated by the eLearning Advisers.

What will you be doing?

You will work in partnership with members of the TEL team and other professional services staff across the Faculty to support and enhance the use of digital education tools and practices used for teaching, learning and assessment for students studying on the Faculty’s Professional Undergraduate Programmes.

As the post holder you will lead and work alongside the two eLearning Advisers to provide front line support, providing advice and answering queries and creating a range of innovative and contemporary guidance and information resources supporting the use of digital education.

This is an exciting opportunity and role combining experience of undergraduate programme administration and advising staff and students in their use of digital learning systems and tools. As the role holder you will take the logistical lead in resource allocation for front-line support and managing workloads, taking into account the rhythm of the academic year and providing resilience.

You will also be building networks with the professional programmes within the Faculty, and the Digital Education Office and other colleagues in the wider university, to share knowledge and best practice.

You should apply if

We are looking for someone that will be able to flourish in a busy and challenging but very rewarding role. The professional programmes are complex and non-standard and there is a regular need to think innovatively developing new processes and providing valuable input into a changing environment. You will have a good eye for detail and strive to deliver excellence in every aspect of your work. This role will offer a fantastic development opportunity.  You will also be a good team player, able to work effectively with staff at all levels in the Faculty and its schools and have an ability to take initiative and show leadership to colleagues.
