Are you looking to develop your career in supporting innovation partnerships? Do you want to develop great R&D collaborations between university researchers and external partners?

We are looking for a talented Associate Business Development Manager to join the Directorate of Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE). Our focus is on generating R&D collaborations that support the University's ‘Road to 2030' strategy. We work with private, public and third sector partners.

The role

The job is a mixture of business development, costing/pricing, contract liaison, relationship building and project management. You'll be part of a professional and collaborative team of business development staff. You will:

  • Be an ambassador for the University, promoting its research expertise to potential R&D partners and matchmaking them with the right University researchers
  • Help secure income-generating projects based on the University's research expertise
  • Provide expert advice to academics and guide them through university processes for developing proposals (full training will be provided).

You

You'll be qualified to degree level or equivalent, with experience in a relevant environment such as a research institution, business, or a funder of innovation such as Innovate UK. You'll be a fast learner, with excellent people skills and the ability to prioritise workload to provide a professional service.

This full-time permanent post will be available to start as soon as possible after 15th March 2023.
