An opportunity has arisen for a software developer to work in the new Horizon Europe project SUN (2022-2025). SUN’s consortium of several key industrial and research organisations from across Europe will investigate and develop extended reality (XR) solutions that integrate the physical and the virtual world in a convincing way, from a human and social perspective. The particular role relates to the software development of technologies that will help address primarily the cyber security weaknesses of the XR environments. At its core, it includes the development of an intrusion detection system that warns the user when a cyber threat has materialised.

This work will be carried out under the supervision of Professor George Loukas, Professor Manos Panaousis and Dr. Georgia Sakellari.

This is an exciting opportunity to participate in an international project, with partners combining XR, artificial intelligence and cyber security.

You will need to be a highly competent XR software developer, with expertise either in augmented reality or virtual reality, and experience in developing cyber security technologies. A MSc in computer science, engineering or similar is essential. Experience in intrusion detection systems, certifications and prior work in VR or XR cyber security are desirable.

Before applying, you may wish to contact Professor George Loukas (g.loukas@gre.ac.uk) for informal enquiries.
