Brookes Sport Swim School is currently looking for a part-time, mainly term-time, administrator to join our team at Oxford Brookes University’s Harcourt Hill Campus near Botley.
If you are an experienced administrator, are proficient in written and spoken English, excel at providing good customer service and are adept at learning new IT systems, we would welcome your application.
The Brookes Swim School is a busy and varied environment that delivers high-quality swimming lessons to children from 4 years of age, right through to adults. We are also proud to deliver a full swimming curriculum to local primary schools.
The position is part-time (regular 18 hours per week for 42 weeks, plus an additional 24 hours per year to cover six Saturday shifts) and the contract is initially for two years. Our group lessons operate mid to late afternoons, Tuesday to Friday and Saturday mornings, so although there will be some flexibility for working hours, you will be required to be available for the majority of our weekday operating hours.
Although this is predominantly an office role, you will be given the opportunity to train as a Level 1 Swimming Teacher to give you a better understanding of swimming teaching and can deliver a basic lesson on an ad hoc basis as cover, once fully trained. You will receive support for all aspects of this role and training will be provided.
This is an amazing opportunity for someone interested in sport, particularly swimming, who is looking for a varied role with many opportunities. As a member of Brookes Sport you will be entitled to a free sports membership, free staff training, and staff uniform plus other Oxford Brookes University benefits.
The successful applicant will be subject to a background disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) before any appointment can be confirmed.
You will also enjoy the benefits of working at Oxford Brookes University with up to 38 days holiday, rising to 41 days holiday (this includes 13 Bank Holidays and Concessionary Days), a generous Local Government pension scheme (14.8% Employer contribution rate), cycle to work scheme and access to a variety of university facilities (NHS Dentist, Brookes Nursery, Gym and sports facilities). For more information about benefits please see the document 'All about Brookes' below.
The University has adopted equality, diversity and inclusion as core values. We welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates whatever their background, and especially from BAME candidates who are under-represented in our workforce.
