The post holder will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated scholar able to undertake eight contact hours a week of tutorial and/or class teaching averaged over the three eight week terms of the academic year. Tutorials may be given to both St Anne’s students and to those from other colleges.
The postholder will be expected to teach in the areas of Greek and Latin languages and literature. Given that for the academic year 2023-24 St Anne’s will have 9 students of Classics and English and 2 of Classics and French, it will be highly desirable if candidates can also demonstrate an enthusiasm for Classical Reception and will be happy to lead our weekly Classical Reception Reading Group and contribute to the termly Lockdown Translations Unlocked sessions in which students and tutors share their creative translations from and into any language.
