Library and Cultural Services at the University of Essex provides high-quality study environments, resources and professional support towards the University’s mission of excellence in education and research.
The Frontline Services team is the face of the Library, and is responsible for providing excellent customer service, with the goal of enabling our students to become successful independent learners.
Duties of the Role
Our team of Frontline Support Assistants offer support and advice to users in accessing library resources, supporting the use of self-service and study facilities. The successful candidate will engage with a diverse range of users online, by phone and in person, proactively offering assistance throughout the Library building.
This is a permanent, full-time post working 36 hours per week, between 8am to 8pm Tuesday to Saturday. There will be a mixture of three shift patterns: 8am – 4pm, 10am – 6pm and 12pm – 8pm. The Saturday shift is 12 to 8pm.
